Terms of use and licence

1. Provider and acceptance
The provider is APDSoftware di Carlo Zuffetti, a sole proprietorship, Via C. Colombo 15, 24047 Treviglio (BG), Italy, Italian VAT no. 03835250162, REA BG 431224; privacy@shelleasy.app. These terms are available before acceptance and can be saved. Visiting the website or requesting a notification does not mean accepting the app licence.
2. Licence and third-party rights
We grant a free, non-exclusive licence to install and use the distributed version on devices you own or are authorised to use, for lawful personal or professional purposes. Organisations may allow authorised staff to use it. We do not transfer ownership or rights to our source code.
Subject to mandatory legal rights and third-party component licences, you may not sell, sublicense or redistribute the software, remove ownership notices or present it as your own. Backup copying, study, interoperability and other activities that cannot legally be prohibited remain permitted. Third-party licences prevail for their respective components: https://shelleasy.app/en/licenses/.
3. Free version and future versions
This version is free and does not activate a subscription. Any paid offering will require separate terms and acceptance, with no automatic charges for this version. Subject to legal obligations, we do not promise future features or releases by fixed dates.
4. Experimental versions
Pre-alpha, alpha and beta versions are experimental and may contain errors, incompatibilities or vulnerabilities causing data loss or interruption. Carry out appropriate testing and maintain verifiable backups before using important data or systems. No external security review has yet been completed. The cryptographic primitives used do not amount to certification. Version features and limitations are described at https://shelleasy.app/en/security/.
5. Access, vault and backups
You must be authorised to access systems and check destinations, commands and operations: they may change or delete data and interrupt services. These duties do not exclude APDSoftware’s liability for matters attributable to it.
Vault encryption does not automatically protect downloaded files, clipboard contents, memory, history or remote systems. APDSoftware cannot recover the Master Password or decrypt the vault. The device keychain is not an APDSoftware recovery service. Protect passwords and exports, and check backups. Locking the vault leaves existing sessions and tunnels running: close them or close the app to stop them.
6. AI assistant
The assistant is optional, initially disabled and does not include a model provided by APDSoftware. Check the server and preview before sending: with a remote server, data leaves your device. The filter cannot recognise every secret or item of personal data. You must be entitled to transmit the data and comply with confidentiality, organisational instructions and applicable law. The server operator’s terms apply to its activities. Answers may be wrong and commands harmful: check them before execution. They are not a guarantee of correctness or security.
7. Warranties and liability
Subject to mandatory rights, we do not promise freedom from errors, vulnerabilities or interruptions, universal compatibility or suitability for every use. Experimental status and documented limitations do not waive statutory remedies. Liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, breaches of mandatory obligations and any liability that cannot be limited remains unaffected, as do applicable consumer protections. No cap equal to the price paid applies, as this version is free.
8. Updates and support
We do not install updates automatically. Any releases are available through https://shelleasy.app. Contact: privacy@shelleasy.app. Subject to legal obligations or separate agreements, no support or resolution times are guaranteed. The absence of automatic updates does not exclude the provider’s security obligations.
9. Export and unlawful uses
Comply with applicable export, sanctions and use restrictions. Unauthorised access and unlawful activities are prohibited. This clause does not transfer the provider’s classification or authorisation obligations to you.
10. Ending use and changes
You may stop using the app at any time: first export any data you wish to keep. For a material breach, we may require you to stop using it after notifying you and allowing a reasonable opportunity to remedy the breach where possible. Mandatory rights remain unaffected. New terms are available before you accept a new version; changing the website alone does not change a licence already acquired.
11. Law, courts and languages
Italian law applies without depriving consumers of mandatory protections under the law otherwise applicable. Jurisdiction follows applicable rules, including consumer rules; we do not impose an exclusive forum on consumers. Italian is the drafting reference; translations must convey the same rights and obligations. Differences cannot reduce mandatory rights or consumer protections.
