Access your computer’s terminal from your phone.

When you’re away from your desk, you’ll be able to use the mobile app to reach ShellEasy on your computer and work in the terminal. The iPhone, iPad and Android apps are coming soon.

When it can help

Check a service while you’re out

Connect your phone to the paired computer, choose a host and open the terminal to check its status or read logs.

Return to a session after switching apps

You’ll be able to reconnect to a mobile session that is still running on your computer. Both the computer and the session must have remained available.

How to pair

  1. Activate Tailscale on your computer and phone and connect them to the same Tailscale network.
  2. In ShellEasy on your computer, enable remote access and display the pairing QR code.
  3. Scan the QR code with the mobile app and confirm the phone on your computer.

Before you connect

  • Your computer must be on, awake and reachable, with ShellEasy running and remote access enabled.
  • Tailscale must be active on both devices. It is a third-party service with its own account and terms of use.
  • Hosts and SSH credentials are stored in the computer’s vault. The mobile app accesses the terminal through that computer.
  • The first mobile release focuses on the terminal. SFTP and port forwarding from your phone are not included in the initial protocol.
